MUNDELEIN, Ill. — Family, friends, and community members are mourning the tragic loss of Lukas Beelow, 31, of Mundelein, who died following a single-vehicle crash during the early morning hours of Sunday, June 7, 2026.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. near the intersection of Chevy Chase Road and West Hawley Street. Beelow was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer when the SUV left the roadway and struck a brick entrance sign for the Grand Dominion residential community, causing catastrophic damage.
