Family, friends, classmates, and members of the Kossuth community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Mason Mills, 17, a Kossuth High School student-athlete who tragically passed away following a Saturday morning crash on Highway 72 West in the Union Center area of Alcorn County, Mississippi.
According to Alcorn County Coroner Jay Jones, Mason was pronounced deceased after the accident, which occurred along a rural section of Highway 72 West near the Tennessee state line. Emergency crews responded to the scene after reports of the crash, but despite efforts by first responders, Mason succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing. Officials are continuing to examine evidence and determine whether other vehicles or contributing factors were involved.
